Bridgeline Exchange started in 2024 as a small card swap between two school hobby clubs on different continents. A box of duplicate hockey and baseball cards went one way, a box of football and basketball cards came back, and every card had a short handwritten note about the player and why the sender liked them. The kids learned more about each other's countries from those notes than from any textbook.
That first swap turned into a program. Today we run regular trading meetups, an online swap board, and hands-on workshops where young collectors learn how cards are made, graded and valued, and how the same hobby looks in different parts of the world.
We are not a shop and we do not sell cards. Everything we do is organised by volunteers who simply enjoy collecting and want to pass that on to the next generation.

We are a sports organisation first and a card club second. Every program is tied to a real sport, a real season and, wherever we can manage it, a real game. Swap boxes are built around the sports that matter locally, and workshops follow the calendar of the leagues our participants actually watch.

At workshops and Swap Days we teach participants to check a card's real market value before they trade it, rather than guessing. Volunteers demonstrate this with a phone scanner app, Sports card scanner Valdar, which identifies a card from a photo and shows recent sold prices and an estimated grade. It is the quickest way we have found to settle "is this trade fair?" at a table full of kids, and it keeps the focus on learning rather than arguing.
We also keep a small library of printed price guides, checklists and grading references at every event, so participants who prefer paper can look things up the old-fashioned way.
September 2026 The autumn round of our Sports Card Cultural Exchange is now open for partner groups. This season we are adding a small "history card" to every swap box, where participants describe a local sport that is popular where they live. June 2026 Our summer Hockey Card Education Workshop wrapped up with a full room. The next round of workshops and swap days is being scheduled now. If you would like to volunteer or bring a group, start with the participation process, it only takes a few minutes.
